Whereas, in laying off the town of Pocahontas, in Tazewell county,

said street, but is on the contrary an additional and unnecessary expense
in keeping same in condition and repair and free from trash and encum-
brances ; and,

reasonable ‘compensation for said strip; and,

used for the improvement of the public school building of the town. Any
sale made hereunder, whether publicly or privately, must be made after
reasonable notice as to time and t terms of sale, and the title to same shall
be sufficiently vested in said purchaser by an order entered upon the
order books of said town required by the council of the said town. Said
order shall show, however, the name or names of the purchaser or pur-
chasers, the amount so purchased by him, and the price paid therefor.
When the above requirements have been complied with, then said order
shall vest said property and the title in the purchaser, and shall operate
as a deed therefor.
