Chap. 102.—An ACT to authorize and empower the board of supervisors of Nelson
county to appropriate and contribute money for the purpose of aiding in the
erection of a monument to the Confederate soldiers of said county.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the board
of supervisors of Nelson county be, and it is hereby, authorized and
empowered, in its discretion, to appropriate and contribute out of the
county funds of said county, a sum of money, not exceeding twelve hun-
dred dollars, nor less than six hundred dollars, for the purpose of aiding
in the construction of a monument to the Confederate soldiers of said
county, to be erected on the public square of said county, or at the
county seat thereof. Such appropriation may be made as a whole, c>
