Chap. 64.—An ACT to prohibit the anditor of public accounts from paying to
certain ollicers and employees 6f the general assembly any warrant for compen-
sation from the time between the 28th of July, 1902, and l2th of November, 1902.

Whereas, the true intent and meaning of an act approved July twenty-
fifth, nineteen hundred and two, entitled “an act providing for the com-
pensation and anileage of members. committees, officers, and emplovees
of the general asscnbly, and fer the payment of the same,’ is that the
compensation of the assistant clerks. enrolling clerks, journal and reading
clerks, committee clerks, sergeants-at-arms, doorkeepers, pages, and other
emplovees of the senate and house of delegates, should be paid only for
the days of actual service, and not for the period included in the recess
froin July twenty-cighth to November twelfth, nineteen hundred and two ;
now, therefore,
Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the auditor
of public accounts be, and is hereby, instructed and directed not to pay
any warrant to any such clerk, officer, or employee for compensation
during such recess.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
