Chap. 423.—An ACT to repeal sections 1068 and 1069; section 1070, as amended
by an act approved February 17, 1890; sections 1071 and 1103 of chapter 46 of
the Code of Virginia.
Became a law without governor's signature December 11, 1903.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That sections
ten hundred and sixty-eight and ten hundred and sixty-nine; section
ten hundred and seventy, as amended by an act approved February sev-
enteenth, eighteen hundred and ninety; sections ten hundred and sev-
enty-one and eleven hundred and three of chapter forty-six of the Code
of Virginia, be, and the same are hereby, repealed.
2. Such repeal shall not affect or impair any act done or right estab-
lished, accruing, accrued, or acquired, or any liability, penalty, forfeit-
ure, or punishment incurred prior to the passage of this act, under or by
virtue of any provision of the Code of Virginia, or amendment thereof,
or act of the general assembly, repealed by the preceding section, but. the
same may be asserted, enforced, prosecuted, or inflicted as fully and to
the same extent as if the same had not been repealed. All actions and
proceedings, civil or criminal, commenced under or by virtue of any pro-
vision of the Code of Virginia, or amendment thereof, or act of the gen-
eral assembly, repealed by the preceding section, and pending at the
date of the passage and approval of this act, may be prosecuted and de-
fended to final effect in the same manner as they might under the laws
then existing, unless it shall be otherwise specially provided by law.
Nothing in this act contained shall he construed to impair the charter
of any corporation existing at the date of the passage and approval of
this act, or any right or liability which any existing corporation, its offi-
cers, directors, stockholders, or creditors may have or be subject to, or
which any corporation had or was subject to, at the date of the passage
and approval of this act, by virtue of any provision of the Code of Vir-
ginia, or amendment thereof, or act of the general assembly, repealed by
the preceding section.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
