Chap. 141.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 10 of the charter of the city
of Manchester, approved March 20, 1874.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That section ten
‘the charter of the city of Manchester, approved March twentieth, eigh-
«a hundred and seventy-four, be amended and re-enacted so as to read
: follows :

§ 10. The mayor shall see that the ordinances of the city council are
ithfully executed and enforced, and that all offenders against or vio-
tors of such ordinances are punished as directed by such ordinance.
e shall, by virtue of his office, possess all the authority in criminal and
vil cases of a justice of the peace of the said city, in addition to the
ower given to him by virtue of this act or that may hereafter be given
‘him by virtue of any other act of assembly.

2. This act shall take effect July first, nineteen hundred and three.
