Chap. 134.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 3972 of the Code of Vir-
ginia, 1887, in relation to how a justice may associate justices with him; if
they disagree, whose opinion to prevail.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That section
thirty-nine hundred and seventy-two of the Code of Virginia be amended
and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
§ 3972. A justice to whom complaint is made, or before whom a pris-
oner is brought, may associate with himself other justices of the ‘county
or corporation, not exceeding two, and they may together execute the
powers and duties before mentioned, but in case of disagreement in opin-
ion the opinion of the justice to whom the complaint is made, or before
whom the prisoner is brought, shall prevail when one justice is so asso-
ciated with him, but in case there be two justices associated with him, the
opinion of the majority shall prevail..
