Chap. 116.—An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of Bedford county to
contribute such an amount as it shall deem proper towards the erection of a
Confederate monument in the courthouse square of said county.

Approved March 28, 1903.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the board
f supervisors of Bedford county be, and it is hereby, authorized and em-
owered to appropriate and contribute out of the county funds such a
um of money as they may deem proper for the purpose of aiding in the
rection of a monument upon the public square of said county, at the
ounty seat, to the Confederate soldiers of said county ; such appropriation
nay be made as a whole, or may be made and paid out by instalments,
s said board may determine: provided, that such monument shall, by
eason of such appropriation, become the property of said county.

2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
