Chap. 109.- An Act to provide for the appointment every two years by the gov-
ernor of three commissioners for the promotion of uniformity of legislation in
the United States, to define their duties, and to authorize the payment of their
traveling expenses.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That with
thirty days after the passage of this act, and every two ycars thereafte
the governor shall appoint three commissioners, who are hereby const
tuted a board of commissioners by the name and style of commissione
for the promotion of uniformity of legislation in the United States.

riage and divorce, insolvency, the form of notarial certificates, descet
and distribution of property, acknowledgment of deeds, execution ar
probate of wills, and other subjects on which uniformity is desirable,
ascertain the best means to effect uniformity in the laws of the State
and to represent the State of Virginia in conventions of like commi
sioners heretofore appointed or to be appointed by other States to consid
