Chap. 83.—An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of Amelia county to con-
tribute such an amount as it shall deem proper towards the erection of a Con-
federate monument in the courthouse square of said county.

Approved March 7, 1903.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the board
of supervisors of Amclia county be, and it is hereby, authorized and em-
powered to appropriate and contribute out of the county funds such a
sum of money as they may deem proper for the purpose of aiding in the
erection of a monument upon the public square of said county, at the
county seat, to the Confederate soldiers of said county. Such appropria-
tion may be made as a whole, or may be made and paid out by instalments,
as said board may determine.

2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
