Chap. 64.—An ACT to proluibit the auditor of publie aeeounts from paving to
eertain olicers and emplovees of the general assembly any warrant for compen-
sation from the time between the 28th of July, 1902, and l2th of November, 1902.

Whereas, the true intent and meaning of an act approved July twenty-
fifth, nineteen hundred and two, entitled “an act previding for the com-
pensation and nileage of members, committees, officers, and eniplovees
of the general assembly. and lor the pavinent of the same? is that the
compensation of the assistant clerks. ¢ nvelling clerks, journal and reading
clerks, committee clerks, sergeanis-at-arins, doorkeepers, pages, and other
emplovers of tie senate and house of delegates, should be paid only for
the davs of actual service, and net for the period included in the recess
from July twenty-cahth to November twelfth, nineteen hundred and two;
now, therefore,
1. Be it enacted byw the general assembly of Virgina. That the auditor
of publie accounts Lesand ds hereby. mstrnie ted and dirceted not to pay
any warrant to any such clerk, officer, or omplovee for compensation
during such recess,
