Chap. 95.—An ACT to authorize and empower the board of supervisors o!
Carroll county to purchase a lot or lots of land in the town of Hillsville
for the purpose of tying horses and other animals and standing vehicles;
and to lay a levy to pay for same.
Approved February 13 1901.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the board
of supervisors of Carroll county be, and they are, hereby authorized and
cnipowered to purchase a vacant lot or lots, aggregating not less than
two acres nor more than five acres, in the town of Iillsville on which
they may erect suitable racks for tying horses and other animals, at
snch price as may be agreed on by them and such person or persons from
whom they purchase the same. Said lot or lots shall be under the exelu-
sive control of the said board, and shall be used by the publie as a place
for standing vehicles and tying horses and other animals. Said board
shall have the power to lav a levy on all taxable property in the county
to pay for said lot or lots and the erection of racks thereon at the
same time and in the same manner that other county levies are laid.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
