Chap. 86.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 10 of an act entitled an
act to provide for the working of roads in Gainesville district of Prince
William county, and approved February 25, 1892, as amended and re-en-
acted by an act approved March 1, 1894.
Approved February 13, 1901.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That section ten
of an act entitled an act to provide for the working of roads in Gaines-
ville district of Prince William county, and approved February twenty-
fifth, eighteen hundred and ninety-two, as amended and re-enacted by
an act approved March first, eighteen hundred and -ninety-four, be
amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
$10. That the court shall examine the said report and the amount of
damages assessed, and, if satisfied that the publie interest and con-
venience will be subserved by its payment and the opening of the road,
or the proposed change, shall approve the report and order the damages
to be paid; but upon the return of the report of the viewers the propric-
tors or tenants of Jands upon which said road will be established shall be
summoned to show cause against said report, and any proprietor or
tenant of said lands may enter himself a party defendant to said petition.
after which the same proceedings shall be had as under the general road
law of the state upon the return of the report of the commissioner of
roads: provided, that all expenses accruing under this section, or sections
eight and nine of said act, shall be paid out of the county treasury.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
