Chap. 67.—An ACT to refund to Archer A. Phlegar taxes erroneously paid by
him.

Whereas it has been shown to the general assembly by proper legal evi-
dence that Archer A. Phlegar, of Montgomery county, Virginia, paid to
the commonwealth, as collateral inheritance tax on the estate of Waller
R. Staples, deceased, of which he is the executor, three hundred and
ninety-six dollars and eighty-nine cents ($396.89) more than was prop-
erly due and payable, and that in the settlement of his accounts as such
executor he has neither claimed nor received credit for the said erroneous
payment, or any part thereof; and
Whereas no means is provided by law for correcting such errors ; there-
fore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the auditor
of public accounts pay to Archer A. Phlegar, out of any money in the
treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of three hundred and
ninety-six dollars and eighty-nine cents ($396.89).
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
