franchises, or any thereof, to any person or persons, or any corporation 0:
corporations, or any association or associations created by, or existing
under the laws of the state of Virginia, or of any other state or of the
United States, or created by and existing under the laws of any foreigr
government.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the New.
wort News ship-building and dry dock company be. and the same is
wereby authorized and empowered to sell or otherwise dispose of and con.
ey its properties and franchises, or any thereof, to any person or persons
r any corporation or corporations, or any association or associations
reated by or existing under the laws of the state of Virginia, or of any
ther state, or of the United States, or created by or existing under the
aws of any foreign government, subject, however, in all respects to the
urisdiction of the laws of the state of Virginia; and full power and
uthority is hereby given to any such person or persons, corporation o1
orporations, association or associations, domestic or foreign, to hol¢
aid properties, real and personal, and franchises, or any part thereof.

2. The powers granted by this act to the Newport News ship-building
nd dry dock company shall only be exercised by a majority of the entire
oard of directors of said Newport News ship-building and dry dock
ompany, with concurrence in writing of the holders of at least three-
ourths in amount of the capital stock thereof.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
