Chap. 42.—An ACT to prevent hogs running at large in Orange county.
Approved February 8, 1901.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That if any
person intentionally permit his hog or hogs to run at large upon the
publie roads or commons of Orange county, he shall be guilty of a mis:
demeanor, and shall, upon conviction thereof, be fined not less than onc
dollar nor more than five dollars for each offense, and shall, in addition
thereto, be liable in damages for any trespass committed by such hog
or hogs going upon the cleared land of any person, whether such land be
enclosed by a lawful fence or not. And if any person permit, but not
intentionally, such hog or hogs to run at large upon said roads or com-
mong, he shall be liable in damages for any trespass committed as afore-
said.
2. This act shall he in force from its passage.
