Chap. 333.—An ACT to prevent expectorating on the floors and aisles of
churches, and in other places of public worship, and to provide the penalty
therefor.
Approved February 16, 1901.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it shall be
unlawful for any person to expectorate on the floors or aisles or otherwise
in any church or other place of publie worship.
2. Any person violating the provisions of the first section of this act
shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and fined not less than one
dollar. nor more than five dollars for each offense, and in default in the
pavmnent of said fine, be confined in the county or city jail.
