Chap. 315.—An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of Washington
county, Virginia, to compensate R. W. Rush and J. C. Stanfield, supervisors
of Washington county, Virginia, for services rendered by them as superin-
tendents of the new jail for Washington county.

Whereas J. C. Stanfield and R. W. Rush, members of the board of
upervisors of Washington county, Virginia, were, on the sixteenth day
f June, eighteen hundred and ninety-eight, appointed to superintend
ne construction of the new jail for said county; and in pursuance of
uid appointment performed said duties; and
Whereas the board entertains some doubt as to its right under the
resent law to compensate said Rush and Stanfield for the services per-
ormed by them; now, therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the Board of
upervisors of Washington county, Virginia, be, and they hereby are,
uthorized and empowered to make such allowance to said Stanfield and
tush for said services as the board may deem reasonable and proper.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
