Chap. 24.—An ACT to amend an act entitled an act amending an act —
incorporate the Fredericksburg aqueduct company, passed February 28,
1833.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That if any
person or persons shall divert, use, apply, or draw off any part of the
water introduced into the town of Fredericksburg, or conducted into or
along any street thereof, by the “Fredericksburg aqueduct company,” a
body politic, incorporated by an act passed March the thirtieth, eighteen
hundred and thirty-one, without the consent of the said company first
had and obtained, he, she, or they shall forfcit and pay the sum of five
dollars, to and for the use of the said company for every such offense
recoverable before the mayor or any justice of the peace of the city of
Fredericksburg, Virginia, and shall, moreover, be subject to the action
or prosecution of the said company for the same.
2. This act shal] commence and be in force from the passing thereof.
