1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That an act
entitled an act to define who are officers and employees of cities, towns.
and counties, approved February twelfth, eighteen hundred and ninety-
eight, be amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
§ 1. That all officers, clerks, and employees who hold their office by
virtue of authority from the general assembly of Virginia, or by virtue
of city, town, or county authority, whether by election or appointment.
and who receive compensation for their services from the moneys of such
city, town, or county shall, for the purposes of garnishment, be deemed
to be, and are officers. clerks, or employees of such city, town or county.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
