Chap. 205.—An ACT to incorporate the Independent Baptist aid society of
‘Westmoreland courity, Virginia.
Approved February 15, 1901.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That John Smith,
Edward Richards, and George Whiting, trustees, and such other persons
as may now or hereafter be associated with them, and their successors,
am
shall be, and they are, hereby constituted a body, politic and corporate,
by the name and style of the Independent Baptist aid society, for the
purpose of providing for the poor, ministering to the sick, and burying
the dead of this order, and by said name shall have perpetual succession
and a common seal, and may sue and be sued, and may enact a constitu-
tion and by-laws for the election, government, and removal of its officers,
for the admission and expulsion of its members, for the acquisition and
inanagement of its property, and the proper conduct of its affairs, and for
all other matters not inconsistent with this act and the laws of the state;
and may alter, amend, and repeal the same from time to time, and may
acquire and hold property—real, personal and mixed—by purchase, gift,
or devise, and may appoint trustees to hold the same.
2. The amount of real estate to be held by said corporation shall not
exceed two acres, as a site for their buildings, and such lands as may be
necessary and proper as cemeteries.
3. The said incorporation being entirely benevolent, its capital stock
is fixed at the sum of one thousand dollars.
4. The principal place of business shall be at Robbs hill, Westmore-
land county, Virginia.
5. This act shall he in force from its passage.
