Chap. 179.—An ACT to prohibit the sale of all kinds of cider in the county of
Essex, except apple cider, without a license, and prescrioe a penalty there
for.
Approved February 15, 1901.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it shall be
unlawful for any person to sell, within the limits of Essex county, orange
cider, pear cider, apricot cider, apple cider, or any other kind of cider, or
any mixture called cider, except a licensed liquor dealer: provided, how-
ever, that nothing in this act shall prevent any person from selling,
without any license, cider from apples grown on his own land.
2. Any person, firm, or corporation violating this act shall be punished
as for selling liquor without license.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
