Chap. 173.—An ACT to protect the China pheasant in Grayson county.
Approved February 15, 1901.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it shall
be unlawful for any person to kill, or offer for sale, or buy any China
pheasant for the period of two years, and thereafter, except in the month
of November, in the county of Grayson, or at any time to destroy the
eggs of same.
2. Any person violating section one of this act shall be deemed guilty
of a misdemeanor, and fined the sum of twenty dollars for each offense,
for each bird so captured or killed.
3. Possession of any such bird or birds shall be prima facie evidence
of his guilt.
4. This act shall be in force from its passage.
