Chap. 131.—An ACT to prohibit the catching of fish in the eastern branch of
the Elizabeth river with pound-nets, ass nets, or otner devices than gill-
nets and hook and line.
Approved February 14, 1901.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it shall
be unlawful to catch or take fish from the waters of the eastern branch
of the Elizabeth river with pound-nets, fyke-nets, seines, or other devices
than gill-nets and hook and line. Any person violating the provisions
of this act shall be punished by a fine of not less than twenty dollars or
more than one hundred dollars.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
