Chap. 118.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 2, chapter 1, of an act of
the general assembly of Virginia, approved Fepruary 29, 1892, being an act
to provide a new charter for the town cf Graham, in the county of Tazewell,
as amended and re-enacted by an act of the general assembly of Virginia,
approved March 1, 1894.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That section
two of chapter one of an act of the general assembly of Virginia, entitled
an act to provide a new charter of the town of Graham, in the county
of Tazewell, approved February twenty-ninth, eighteen hundred and
ninety-two, as amended and re-enacted March first, eighteen hundred
and ninety-four, ke amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows :
Beginning at a point on top of first ridge, south of the residence of
J. N. Hicks; said point being situated eleven hundred and seventy feet
south, thirty-one degrees thirty minutes east, from a double walnut tree.
known as a corner between the J. D. Sargeant and J. T. Linkous tracts
of land; thence south thirty-one degrees thirty minutes, east one thou-
sand four hundred and sixty-nine feet to two small pines; thence south
sixty-six degrees thirty minutes, west eight hundred and _ thirty-eight
feet to a corner of the lands of W. M. Sanders; thence with said Sander’s
line south sixty-one degrees thirty minutes, west eleven hundred and
twenty-nine fect to a point; thence south sixty-five degrees forty-five
minutes, west twelve hundred and twenty-five feet to a point: thence
south sixty-nine degrees, west eight hundred and two feet to a point;
thence north sixty-seven degrees forty-five minutes, west five hundred
and sixty-three feet to a point; thence, leaving the said Sanders’ line,
north twenty-seven degrees forty-five minutes, west twenty hundred and
fifty-six feet to the south line of Tazewell avenue; thence with the said
south line of Tazewell avenue, north eighty-cight degrees forty-five
minutes, west twelve hundred and ninety-five feet to the intersection of
said line with the west line of Montrose street; thence north eighty-nine
degrees thirty minutes, west eight hundred and sixty-five feet to a point
in a line of James F. Dudley; thence north twenty-five degrees thirty
minutes, west ten hundred and forty-five feet to the south line of High-
land avenue; thence with said south line of Highland avenue north
fiftv-cight degrees fifteen minutes, east one hundred fect to a point;
thence with a curved line to the right (radius, two hundred and seventy
feet) a distance of two hundred and thirty-five feet to a point; thence
with a curved line to the left (radius, two hundred and seventy-two feet)
a distance of two hundred and twenty-four feet to a point; thence north
sixty-two degrees fifteen minutes, cast seven hundred and seventy-one
feet to a point; thence with a curved line to the right (radius, two hun-
dred and four feet), a distance of two hundred and seven feet to a
point; thence with a curved line, to the left, (radius, three hundred and
thirty-five feet), a distance of three hundred ‘and ninety-one feet to a
point ; thence north fifty-three degrees thirty miuutes, cast five hundred
and three fect to a point; thence, leaving said street, north two degrees
forty-five minutes, east five hundred and seventy-two feet, crossing a
ridge, to the intersection of the north line of Chiswold street and the
east line of Crescent street: thence with the east line of Crescent street,
with a curved line to the right (radius, four hundred and forty feet), a
distance of five hundred and forty-one feet to a point; thence, with a
curved line, to the left, (radius, eight hundred and twenty-two feet), a
distance of six hundred and fifty-six fect, to the intersection of said line
with the north line of the Norfolk and Western railway company right
of way; thence with the said right of way line, a curved line, to the left
(radius, nine hundred and ninety-cight feet), a distance of four hundred
and sixty-eight feet; thence leaving the said railroad line, with a curved
line, to the right (radius, five hundred and thirty feet), a distance of
nine hundred and fifty-one feet; (the bearing for the first one hundred
feet is north thirty -two degrees thirty minutes east), this line being the
south line of Sargeant street ; thence north forty-five degrees thirty min-
utes, east one hundred and seventy -three feet to a point: thence, with
a curved line, to the right (the hearing of the first one hundred feet
being south thirty-nine degrees forty-five minutes east), (radius, six
hundred and ninety-five fect), a distance of six hundred and seventy-five
fect to a point; thence, with a curved line to the left (the bearing of
the first one hundred feet being south forty-three degrees fifteen min-
utes east), (radius, six hundred and ninety-nine feet), a distance of
seven hundred and ninety-cight feet, to the northeast corner of Jot num-
ber fourteen, section twelve, as laid down on the map of lots of the Gra-
ham land and improvement company, which map of lots is of reeord in
‘the clerk’s office of the county court of Tazewell county, Virginia; thenee
south fifteen degrees thirty minutes, east one hundred and thirty feet, to
the southeast corner of said lot; thence north sixty-nine degrees thirty
minutes, east thirty-one hundred and seventy-four feet to the east
boundary line of Mrs. M. M. Steven’s property: thence with said line,
south twelve degrees nine minutes, east eight hundred and_ seventy
feet, to the north line of the Norfolk and Western railway company right
of way: thence with the said line. north sixty-seven degrees five
minutes, cast thirteen hundred and one feet, to the division line between
Virginia and West Virginia: thence with the said state line, south forty-
nine degrees forty-five minutes, east thirteen hundred and fifty-six feet,
to a stone, on top of the first ridge south of the said railroad: thence,
with said ridge, south sixty-four degrees thirty minutes, west thirty-
seven hundred and twenty-four feet. to the beginning.
2. This act shall be in foree from the thirty-first day of January.
