Chap. 416.—An ACT to enable the sheriff and constables of Clarke county to collect
their ferriage expenses.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That for any ser-
rice enumerated in section three thousand five hundred and thirty-one of
he Code of Virginia, of the year eighteen hundred and eighty-seven, and
icts amendatory thereof, the sheriff and constables of Clarke county shall,
vhen said services are performed, either in whole or in part, on the east
ide of the Shenandoah river, in addition to the fees enumerated in said
ection, receive the costs of ferriage when it is necessary to ferry, and
hall have the right to tax and collect the same in the mode prescribed by
aw, as in the case of other fees.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
