Chap. 394.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 2 of an act approved March 6,
1890, entitled an act to incorporate the Woman’s Christian Association of Rich-
mond, and section 5 of said act, as amended and re-enacted by an act approved
February 16, 1892, entitled an act to amend and re-enact section 5 of an act of
the general assembly, approved March 6, 1890, entitled an act to incorporate the
Woman’s Christian Association of Richmond.

Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, Phat section two
of an act approved Mareh sixth, eighteen hundred and ninety, entitled
“an act to incorporate the Woman's Christian Association of Richmond,”
and the amendment to section five of said act. approved) Fcbruary six-
teenth, eighteen hundred and ninety-two, be amended and re-enacted so
as to read as follows:
$2. The objects of said association shall be to promote the spiritual
and temporal welfare of such indigent and dependent women as it may
see fit to axsist, and especially of such voung women as must rely on
their own exertions fora livelihood, and to do such other work of a benev-
olent and charitable nature as to the said association may appear wise.
$5. (a) That the said association may acquire property, real or per-
sonal, in any lawful manner, whether by purchase, gift, devise, or be-
quest, and it may sell, lease. exchange. or encumber any or all of its prop-
erty, as it may see fit: provided, that it. shall net, at any one time, own
property of greater value in the aggregate, real and personal, than two
hundred thousand dollars.
(b) That the said association shall have the right to establish any
branches, committees, boards, or agencies that if may deem necessary
for the carrving out of any of the objects set forth in the second section
of this acts and if it shall do so, the same shall be held and deemed to
be branches of the corporation; and if any gift. grant, devise, or be-
quest shall be made to the Woman's Christian Association of Richmond
for the use of such branches, committees, hoards, or agencies, or any of
them. the same shall be good and effcetual to pass to such objects when-
ever the donor, grantor, bargainer, or testator shall name the aforesaid
corporation in general terms: and if any gift, grant. devise, or bequest
shall be made to anv of said branches, committees, beards, or agencies,
the same shall be good and clfectual, and shall pass te and be held by
said association for the use.of said branch, committee. board, or ageney
whenever the donor, grantor, bargainer, or testator shall definitely name
or substantially describe the said: branch, committee, hoard, or ageney,
