Chap. 34.—An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of Norfolk county to
borrow money.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That whenever
1e board of supervisors of Norfolk county, for the purposes hereinafter
st forth, shall deem it necessary, they are hereby authorized and em-
owered to borrow money, and to that end to direct the treasurer of
lorfolk county to make such note, or notes, and to borrow such sum or
ums of money as may be necessary, from time to time, to pay in cash all
arrants issued by said board: provided, that in no case shall the sum or
ums of money so borrowed exceed three-fourths of the amount of the
svy for the current year, nor that the rate of interest for such loans shall
xceed six per centum per annum, nor that the said money so borrowed
hall be used for any other purpose than to pay warrants of the county
ssued to cover the expenses of the county, nor that any money shall be
orrowed in any year until the money so borrowed in the preceding year
hall have been fully paid off.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
