Chap. 982.—An ACT for the relief of R. L. Taylor, a Confederate veteran
Approved March 7, 1900.
Whereas R. L. Taylor, a disabled soldier of Virginia, was a bra
and faithful soldier, and loval to Virginia; and
Whereas he is now suffering from the following disabilities—to w
Constitution broken down from services in the war, paralyzed, a
totally unable to perform manual labor, and in destitute circumstance
and
Whereas he does not wish to become an inmate of the soldiers’ hor
therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That t
county court of Caroline county shall examine into the condition
the above-named R. L. Tavlor, and should it be that he was true a
loval to Virginia throughout the war, and that he is now afflicted a
incapacitated for manual labor, and ‘that his constitution was brok
down from service in the war, and that he is in destitute circumstance
and should, in the opinion of the judve of the county court of Caroli
county, receive aid from Virginia, then said county court of Caroli
county is hereby directed to forward a certificate of the foregoing fac
to the auditor of public accounts of Virginia, who is hereby direct
to place said R. L. Taylor on the pension list upon the hasis of tot
disability, and that the said R. lL. Taylor shall annually draw his pe
sion upon this basts.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
