Chap. 981.—An ACT creating a special board for Buckingham county, and
defining its duties.
Approved March 7, 1900.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
judge of the county court of Buckingham county and the ecommon-
wealth’s attorney of said county and the clerk of the county court of
said county, be, and they are hereby, created a board for the purpose
of examining, inspecting, and correcting the land books of Buckingham
county, and for this purpose they are hereby authorized to appoint by
a majority vote of said board a special commissioner who shall, after
an inspection of said Jand books, the examination of parties and record
evidence, make up and return to said county court, correct land books
showing in each case the rightful owner or owners of each tract of
land so charged.
2. The said special commissioner shall] secure compensation out of the
county funds, the same to be fixed by said board and not to exceed four
hundred dollars per annum.
3. The books so corrected or amended shall thereafter take the pl:
of the present land books and shall be so considered and acted upon
the several commissioners of the revenue of said county.
4. The board created by this act shall assemble on the twelfth ¢
of March, nineteen hundred, and organize. Thereafter they shall m
as often as necessary.
5. All acts and parts of acts in conflict with this act is hereby
pealed.
6. This act shall be in force from its passage.
