Chap. 958.—An ACT for the relief of Johnson & Early, assignees of Mag.
Crockett.
Approved March 7, 1900.
Whereas one Mistress Mag. Crockett, of the county of Carroll,
did care for and maintain one Dora Hvler, a lunatic, under an order of
the county court of of Carroll county entered at the January term,
eighteen hundred and ninety-six, at the price of thirty-five cents per
day, as allowed by law; and
Whereas at a county court held for said county at the April term,
eighteen hundred and ninety-six, the said Mistress Mag. Crockett was
allowed the sum of twenty-nine dollars and forty cents for such care
and maintenance; and
Whereas said allowance was duly certificd by the said court to the
auditor of public accounts for payment, but payment was refused by
said auditor of public accounts; and
Whereas the said Mistress Mag. Crockett assigned and transferred
said claim to Johnson and Early before the same was presented to
the auditor of public accounts for payment; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
auditor of public accounts be, and he is hereby, directed to issue his
warrant upon the treasurer of the state of Virginia in favor of the
said Johnson and Early for the sum of twenty-nine dollars and forty
cents, payable out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appro-
priated, which sum, when received by the said Johnson and Early,
shall be in full of the amount due the said Mistress Mag. Crockett
on account of the said allowance made by the said county court of
(Carroll county.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
