Chap. 942.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 5 of an act entitled “an
act to incorporate the Walkerton and Mattaponi bridge company,” approved
February 24, 1898.
Approved March 7, 1900.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That section
five of an act entitled “an act to incorporate the Walkerton and
Mattaponi bridve company,” approved February twenty-fourth, eigh-
teen hundred and ninety-eight, be amended and re-enacted so as to
red as follows:
$5. It shall be lawful for said company to acquire, in subscriptions
to the capital stock of said company, moneys, lands, work, labor,
materials, property, bonds, or other means available for their purposes,
and to receive subscriptions from individuals, other companies, asso-
cations, or corporations, and also to acquire, by purchase or other-
wise, the ferry privileges and franchises of the Walkerton ferry, with
all the property, real or personal, belonging to or used in connection
with the said ferry, and shall have the right to hold and operate thie
said ferry; and the said company may sell, lease, or otherwise dispose of
any lands or property acquired under this section.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
