Chap. 938.—An ACT for the relief of M. Robertson, a disabled Confederat
soldier.
Approved March 7, 1900.
Whereas M. Robertson, sixty-eight vears old, a disabled Confederat:
oldier, of company K, twenty third Vi irginia regiment, third brigade
ras a rive and faithful soldier during the war hevwren the states
vas loyal to Virginia; and
Whereas he is now suffering from the effects of seventeen wounds
received in battle, is poor and needy and entirely incapacitated from
physical labor—
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
county court of Lunenburg shall examine into the condition of the said
M. Robertson, a Confederate soldier, and if it shall appear that he was
true and loyal to Virginia through the war, that he is now suffering
from the effect of many wounds received in battle during the war
between the states, that he is thereby totally incapacitated from all
kinds of physical labor, that he is needy and poor and should receive
aid from Virginia; and if the county court of Lunenburg shall send a
certificate of such facts to the auditor of public accounts, then the
said auditor is directed to place the name of M. Robertson on the pen-
sion list and pay him annually on and after the first day of April, nine-
teen hundred, the sum of thirty dollars: provided, the facts herein
alleged are properly known before the county court of Lunenburg
county, and certified by said court to the auditor of public accounts.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
