Chap. 920.—An ACT for the relief of Joseph Galloway, of Lee county, a dis-
abled Confederate soldier.
Approved March 7, 1900.
‘Whereas Joseph Galloway, of Lee county, was a true and gallant
soldier during the war between the states, was loyal to Virginia, was a
member of General Floyd’s command, and was wounded in the left leg
in the battle of Fort Donaldson; and
Whereas said wound partially healed and said Galloway continued in
the Confederate service, and after the close of the war for many years
supported himself by phvsical labor, but his left leg having become
worse, rendering him totally disabled, and for the past two years he has
been an inmate of the poorhouse of Lee county, totally disabled from
working and in destitute circumstances; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
auditor of public accounts be, “and he is hereby, authorized and directed
to place the name of Joseph Galloway, of the county of Lee, on the list
of Confederate soldiers whose disabilities are total and who are entitled
to receive thirty dollars per year, pursuant to an act of the general
assembly of Virginia, approved March fifth, eighteen hundred and
eighty-eight, when the facts as heretofore alleged shall be proved before
the county court, of Lee county, and certified to the auditor of public
accounts.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
