Chap. 900.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 3142 of the code of Virgini:
in relation to judges of county and corporation courts to prepare annually list
of jurors.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That sectior
thirty-one hundred and forty-two of the code of Virginia, be amendec
and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
§ 3142. The judge of each county, circuit, and corporation court
and the judge of the law and equity court of the city of Richmond
shall annually during the months of January or June, and the judgc
of the chancery court of the city of Richmond, and the judge of the
law and chancery court for the city of Norfolk, when necessary, pre-
pare a list of such inhabitants in the county or corporation where thei1
respective courts are to be held, not exempt by section thirty-one hun-
jred and forty, as are well qualified to serve as jurors. Such list shall
‘contain one for every one hundred inhabitants of each magisterial dis-
trict or ward, having regard to the population of the county or corpo-
ration, but the whole number of persons selected in the county or corpo-
ration shall not be less than one hundred nor more than three hundred,
‘xcept in the courts for the cities of Richmond and Norfolk the num-
ver shall not exceed six hundred.
