Chap. 87.—An ACT for the relief of George W. Koontz, treasurer of Shen-
andoah county, and to authorize the auditor of public accounts to credit
said treasurer with lost school warrant.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the audi-
tor of public accounts, upon the production of satisfactory evidence that
the school warrant of the county of Shenandoah for the year eighteen
hundred and ninety-eight, number one hundred and one, dated Septem-
ber thirtieth, eighteen hundred and ninety-eight, for the sum of eight
thousand five hundred and thirty-one dollars, has been lost, and that
the amount of the said warrant has been paid by said George W. Koontz,
treasurer of said county, upon orders of the proper authorities, be, and
he hereby is, authorized, upon settlement with said Koontz, to credit
him by same: provided, the auditor shall take from said Koontz a bond
of indemnity in the usual penalty, with proper security, conditioned to
save the commonwealth from loss by reason of said credit being given.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
