Chap. 75.—An ACT to define a lawful fence for the county of Campbell.
Approved January 17, 1900.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That within
the county of Campbell the ‘boundary lines of each tract or lot of land
shall be. and are hereby, declared to be a lawful fence, and all animals
going at large in said county shall be subject to the provisions of sections
twenty hundred and forty-two, twenty hundred and forty-nine, and
twenty hundred and fifty of the code of Vi irginia: provided further, that
the outside county line of said county shall be, to all intents, a lawful
fence to the same effect as to animals crossing it and trespassing uwnon
the real property of citizens within the said county, as if the trespass was
committed by the stock of one citizen within said county upon the real
estate of another citizen of the county.
2. All acts and parts of acts, so far as thev conflict with this, are to
that extent repealed; but nothing in this act shall he construed as in anv
sense modifying the statute requiring railroad companies to fence their
tracks or else pay damages for stock killed.
3. This act shall be in force from April first, nineteen hundred.
