Chap. 743.—An ACT to authorize and permit D. S. Jones to erect wharves and
piers and to construct bulkheads in James river along the water-fronts of
the land owned by him in the counties of Warwick and Elizabeth City.
Approved March 3, 1900.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That D. S.
Jones is hereby authorized and permitted to erect wharves or piers and
to construct bulkheads in the James river along and opposite to the
water-fronts of the lands owned by him in the counties of Warwick
and Elizabeth City, Virginia: provided, however, that navigation be not
obstructed, nor any right of property now invested be impaired thereby.
2. That the said D. 8S. Jones, his successors and assigns, shall have
the right to charge and receive reasonable fees, tolls, and wharfage, as a
compensation for the use of said wharves, piers, and bulkheads.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
