Chap. 728.—An ACT to authorize the road board of Amherst county to borrow
money, to be used in working the public roads in Pedlar magisterial dis-
trict of said county.
Approved March 3, 1900.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the road
yoard of Amherst county be, and they are hereby, authorized to issue
yonds to an amount not to exceed one thousand dollars, in denomina-
ions of not less than one hundred dollars, and to run not exceeding ten
years, and bearing interest not exceeding six per centum per annum,
or the purpose of working, repairing, and keeping in order the public
‘oads and bridges in Pedlar magisterial district of said county. The
»oard of supervisors of Amherst county are authorized and empowered
0 levy a special tax not exceeding five cents on the one hundred dol-
ars’ value of the assessed property in said district, as a special fund, to
be appropriated annually to the payment of the interest on the said
bonds, and the extinguishment of the principal, until the whole shall
be paid.
2. The interest on said bonds shall be paid annually, and to be evi-
denced by coupons to be attached thereto.
3. Said bonds to be signed by the president of the said road board,
and sealed with the seal of the board of supervisors of said county,
which board, together with the county judge as president, constitute
said road board, and to be attested by the clerk of said board.
4. This act shall be in force from its passage.
