Chap. 70.—An ACT to change the name of the title and trust company to
southern trust company, and to amend and re-enact section 1 of an act to
incorporate the Virginia mercantile and safe deposit company, of Rich-
mond, Virginia, approved January 24, 1890, as amended and re-enacted by
an act approved January 22, 1894.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the name
of the title and trust company be, and is hereby, changed to the southern
trust company, and that section one of the act approv ed January twenty-
fourth, eighteen hundred and ninety, as amended and re-en nacted by an
act entitled an act to change the name of the Virginia mercantile and
safe deposit company, of Richmond, Virginia, and to amend and re-enact
sections one and four of an act to incorporate the Virginia mercantile
and safe deposit company of Richmond, Virginia, approved January
twenty-fourth, eighteen hundred and ninety, be amended and re-enacted
so as to read as follows:
§ 1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That Gran-
ville G. Valentine, John Addison, W. S. Forbes, T. L. Alfriend, and
John R. Williams, and such others as are, and may be, associated with
them and their successors, be, and they are hereby, made a body politic
and corporate, by the name of the southern trust company, which shall
hereafter be the name and style of the said corporation in the place of
the name heretofore borne by it, and by that name shall have perpetual
succession and a common seal, and shall have, enjoy, and exercise all
rights, powers, and privileges pertaining to corporate bodies conferred
by the laws of Virginia.
