Chap. 658.—An ACT to protect mountain trout in Jenning’s creek or its
tributaries, in the county of Botetourt.
Approved February 27, 1900.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it shall
be unlawful to kill or capture mountain trout by any process whatso-
ever, in Jenning’s creck or its tributaries, in the county of Botetourt,
at any time during the three years next succeeding the passage of this
act; or to buy or sell, or make use of, any mountain trout so killed or
captured, Any person violating any of the provisions of this act shall
be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof be
fined for each offense not Jess than five nor more than twenty dollars,
and be imprisoned in jail until the fine is paid, but not exceeding thirty
days. In a prosecution of a person for a violation of any of the pro-
visions of this act, the possession by such person of any of the fish men-
tioned shall be prima facie evidence of his guilt.
2. All acts or parts of acts in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
