Chap. 656.—An ACT to regulate hunting partridges in the county of Nelson.
Approved February 27, 1900.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it shall
be lawful to kill or capture partridges in the county of Nelson between
the first day of November and the first day of February. of each year,
except when the ground is covered with snow.
2. It shall be unlawful for any one to kill or capture partridges
in said county between the first day of February and the first day of
November of each year, or to kill or capture the same at any time when
the ground is covered with snow.
3. Any person violating this act shall be deemed guilty of a mis-
demeanor and fined not exceeding ten dollars for each offense.
4. In any prosecution of a person for violation of this act proof of
the possession of such birds shall be prima facie evidence of guilt.
5. All acts or parts of acts inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed,
in so far as they affect the county of Nelson.
6. This act shall be in force from its passage.
