Chap. 654.—An ACT for the relief of Frank Stringfellow.

Whereas by an act of the general assembly, approved February
twenty-fifth, eighteen hundred and eighty-four, John T. Woodward,
James Leigh, and R. W. Chichester, deputy treasurers of the county
of Fairfax, were authorized to return at any time within one year
from the passage of said act, certain tax bills for the years eighteen
hundred and seventy-seven, eighteen hundred and seventy-eight, and
eighteen hundred and seventy-nine, delinquent, (which tax bills had not,
up to that time, been returned delinquent,) and which did not appear
of record to be due and to be liens on real estate in the county of Fair-
fax; and
Whereas Frank Stringfellow and those from whom he purchased
had become owners of a certain tract of land in Fairfax county, con-
sisting of about eight hundred acres, and known as “Ayre Farm,”
in good faith, without knowledge of ‘said unpaid taxes, and without
being able to obtain from the records that said taxes were due; there-
fore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That Frank
Stringfellow, his heirs or assigns, be, and thev are hereby, relieved,
and the said tract of land, containing about eight hundred acres, and
known as “ Ayre Farm,” in the county of Fairfax, is hereby relieved
from the len of taxes for the years eighteen hundred and seventy-
seven, cighteen hundred and seventy -eight, and eighteen hundred and
sey enty- -nine, which were not returned delinquent by the treasurer
or deputy treasurer of the county of Fairfax for those years, respectively,
within the time and in the manner prescribed by law.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
