Chap. 653.—An ACT for the relief of J. C. Stanly, deputy treasurer of Patrick
. county.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That J. C.
Stanly, a deputy treasurer of Patrick county, be, and he is hereby,
given the same power to levy and distrain as is possessed by treasurers
under the revenue laws, to collect all taxes and county levies assessed
for the years of eighteen hundred and ninety-four, eighteen hundred
and ninety-five, eighteen hundred and ninety-six, and eighteen hun-
dred and ninety-seven, in Dan river district of said county, which have
not been collected or returned delinquent or insolvent, and for which
the then treasurer has settled with the board of supervisors and auditor
of public accounts. The right to collect such taxes and county levies
by levy and distress shall continue for one year from the passage of this
act.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
