Chap. 608.—An ACT to incorporate Little bay lodge, number 177, I. O. O. F.,
in Lancaster county, Virginia.
Approved March 5, 1900.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That H. Ben-
jamin Treakle, Henry W. James, George P. Squires, Harry D. McNamara
and Joseph H. Davis, trustees, and all other persons who now or may
hereafter be associated with them, and _ their successors, shall be, and
they are hereby, constituted a body politie and corporate, by the name
and style of Little Bay lode, number one hundred and seventy-seven,
independent order of odd-fellows, of Lancaster county, Virginia, and
by said name shall have perpetual succession and a common seal, and
may sue and be sued, and may enact a constitution and by-laws for the
election, government, and removal of its officers, for the admission and
expulsion of members, for the acquisition and management of its prop-
erty and the proper conduct of its affairs, and for all other matters not
inconsistent with this act and the laws of this state and the laws of the
grand lodge independent order of odd-fellows of Virginia, and
may alter, amend and repeal the same from time to time; and may
acquire and hold property—real, personal and mixed—by purchase,
gift, or devise, and mav appoint trustees to hold and manage the same
with authority to purchase, lease, hire, sell, alien, mortgage, and ex-
change the same.
2. The purpose of said incorporation being entirely benevolent, its
capital stock is fixed at the nominal sum of five hundred dollars.
3. The principal place of business shall be at Treakle, Lancaster
county, Virginia.
