Chap. 584.—An ACT to prescribe the qualifications of arbitrators and umpires
selected to ascertain losses under policies of insurance on property in
the state of Virginia.
Approved March 6, 1900.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
arbitrators and umpire selected to ascertain the loss sustained by any
Claimant upon any policy of insurance on any property in the state of
Virginia, shall be citizens and actual residents of the state of Virginia.
2. Be it further enacted, That said arbitrators and umpire, before
acting as such, shall take an oath to faithfully discharge their duties
and that they are not in any manner In the employment of any insurance
company.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
