Chap. 569.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 13 of an act approved
January 22, 1894, as amended by an act entitled an act to amend and re-
enact sections 1 and 13 of an act entitled an act to incorporate the Fred-
ericksburg and Lancaster railroad company, approved February 12, 1896.

Whereas the name of the Fredericksburg and Lancaster railroad
company was changed by amendment of section one of its charter, to
that of the Virginia, Fredericksburg, and western railroad company by
amended act approved February twelfth, eighteen hundred and ninety-
six; an
Whereas a large sum of money has been expended in said under-
taking, and the construction of said railroad was begun within two
years from April first, eighteen hundred and ninety-six, as provided in
said amended act, and several miles of road-bed established; and
Whereas the time for completion of said railroad as in said amended
act provided is insufficient:
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That section
thirteen of an act entitled an act to incorporate the Fredericksburg
and Lancaster railroad company, approved January twenty-second,
eighteen hundred and ninety-four, as amended by an act approved
February twelfth, eighteen hundred and ninety-six, be amended and re-
enacted so as to read as follows:
§ 13. The construction of said road shall be completed within five
years from April first, nineteen hundred.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
