Chap. 554.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 65 of an act entitled an act to

incorporate the city of Newport News, in the county of Warwick, approved
January 16, 1806.

Approved February 27, 1900.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That section
sixty-five of an act entitled an act to incorporate the city of Newport
News, In the county of Warwick, and to provide a charter therefor, ap-
proved January sixteenth, eighteen hundred and ninety-six, be amended
and re-enacted so as to read as follows:

$65. The police justice shall receive such salary as shall be fixed
by the council not exceeding twelve hundred dollars ($1200.00) per
annum, and he shall receive no other compensation or emoluments
whatever; and his salary shall not be diminished during his term of
office.

2. All acts and parts of acts in conflict with this act be, and are
hereby, repealed.

This act shall be in force from its passage.
