Chap. 536.—An ACT for the protection of fish and game in Occupacia creek,
the county of Essex, and to prevent obstruction to navigation in said creek.
Approved February 26, 1900.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it shall be
unlawful for any person to shoot any game, except from the land, at
any time during the night in Occupacia creek, in the county of Essex,
and in no case shall floating reflectors, lamps, or lights of any kind be
used in shooting at night in said creek, and it shall be unlawful for
any person to fish in said creek with any ‘fixed device below Woodpecker
Point, in said creek, and it shall be unlawful for any person to place
any stake or other obstructions to navigation in said creek below Wood-
pecker Point.
2. Any person violating the provisions of this act shall be deemed
guilty of a misdemeanor, and on conviction thereof shall be fined not
less than five dollars nor more than twenty-five dollars, or confined
in jail not less than thirty days for each offense.
