Chap. 454.—An ACT to refund to Thomas J. Vaughan and Sallie A. Vaughan
double taxes, paid to the state by them on certain lots in Atlantic City ward,
Norfolk city, Virginia.

Whereas certain lots in Atlantic City ward, Norfolk city, Virginia,
were assessed against Thomas J. Vaughan and Sallie A. Vaughan, as
tenants in common, for the years eighteen hundred and ninety-one and
eighteen hundred and ninety-two, and the taxes thereon were duly paid
by them for those years; and
Whereas the same lots were at the same time assessed against the
former owners, and the said Thomas J. Vaughan and Sallie A. Vaughan
have been compelled to pay the taxes assessed against said former owners
of the said lots for the years eighteen hundred and ninety-one and eigh-
teen hundred and ninety-two, amounting in the aggregate to thirty-nine
dollars and seventy-four cents; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That upon proof
of facts the auditor of public accounts be, and he is hereby, authorized
and directed to draw his warrant in favor of the said Thomas J. Vaughan
and Sallie A. Vaughan for the sum of thirty-nine dollars and seventy-
four cents, payable out of the public treasury.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
