Chap. 4.—An ACT to empower the town of Berryville, Virginia, to hold real
estate for the purpose of constructing water-works for said town, and to
acquire and exercise jurisdiction over the same.
Approved December 18, 1899.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the town
of Berryville, Virginia, may be authorized and empowered to hold, own
and possess all of the property, real and personal, conveyed to said town
by a deed dated the twenty-third day of September, eighteen hundred
and ninety-nine, from Marshall McCormick, trustee, “R. T. Barton,
trustee, and others.
2. 'The council of said town is authorized to erect water-works on
said property, to pass all ordinances necessary to protect said water-works
and property, and for this purpose the jurisdiction of said town shall
cover and embrace the property mentioned in section one of this
act, and all the powers conferred upon the mayor and council of said
town shall apply to property conveyed by the said deed from Marshall
McCormick, trustee, and R. T. Barton, trustee, and others.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
